Lets Be Woven Together

Manifesto

“We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.” - Herman Melville

It’s an inevitable discovery: we are all connected. Throughout history, two things seem to remain clear: we as people can either band together and accomplish greatness, or we can divide and slowly wither away. Whether it is in regard to relationships, business, dreams, passion or any number of things, we are all connected. Somehow, many of us have forgotten or overlooked this connectedness, but now is the time to remember. Civic Threads wants to help create and foster connectedness so that we can all achieve greatness.

Maybe that means waking up and putting on a comfy, consciously-made tee shirt, creating something you’re passionate about or learning more about what’s going on in the world and how you can help shape it. No matter what, we all have a part to play.

It’s high time that we use our abilities, our influence, our hearts, minds, and souls to make a change that is bigger than ourselves. For us, that’s through a business. Civic Threads aims to be more than a retail store; the world has enough of those. We aim to be community centered. Socially aware. Malleable.

Through a retail space, we aim to sell quality, consciously-made apparel and local handmade goods, also we want to be a space where people can gather, and be inspired by learning about ways they can get involved in the world around them through action and activism, or just be a place to have a good conversation. Whatever the need is, we want to be in on it. We want to help. We want to provide that space.

All we ask is that you join the passion and free your mind so that together we can dream, realize and achieve. Lets be woven together.

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.”  - Chief Seattle
